Gertrude I. Green

	Gertrude I. Green, age 94, of Pinckneyville, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 2:40 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Health Care Center.
	Gertrude was born December 23, 1918 in Moroa, Ill., a daughter of Kelly and Lettie (Henry) DeMent.  She was united in marriage to L. Ward Green on May 2, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1975.  She owned and operated Green's Hatchery in Pinckneyville and was a housewife.  Gertrude was a member of the First Christian Church of Pinckneyville, Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
	Survivors include four daughters, Donna Krug and husband Gene of Titusville, Fla., Roberta Davis and husband Allen of Pinckneyville, Deloris Conklin of Las Vegas, Nev. and Mary Alice Agatone of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Don DeMent and wife Dorothy of Mt. Vernon; one brother-in-law, Max Green and wife LaDonne of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Gladys Eckstein and husband Bert of Sheldon, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Maxine DeMent of Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Carl; one granddaughter; two sisters and one brother.
	Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 12 in the First Christian Church of Pinckneyville with Pastor Jim Walizer officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. and then at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
	Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Pinckneyville Health Care.
